Free Lowe's Build and Grow Clinics

My son has been to one of these before and I just signed him up to go to the one this Saturday to build a 'toy garage' HERE

He had a really fun time and is excited to go again. (we make it sort of a Daddy/son outing)

It's a free event for your kids and they get a cute kids apron and the opportunity to make something too!

$10 off coupon for the movie 'Up'

Go HERE to get a link to a $10 coupon for the Disney movie 'Up'. I used a coupon just like this for the Tinkerbell movie and it worked just fine at Walmart for buying the regular DVD.

FYI - I was actually surprised that this movie is rated PG so I just wanted to make everyone aware of that, but you can read a review HERE

More info about Jewel Catalinas

Here are some good links to some scenarios that may be helpful to look at when developing a shopping list. It's good to have a lot of different scenario ideas since some of the hot items (paper towels, Progresso Broth, yogurt, etc.) may be out of stock when you go forcing you to recalculate a deal:

Link with some ring up prices HERE

Mashup Mom has a bunch of entries of her shopping trip scenarios HERE and HERE

More deal/scenario ideas HERE

Forums are another great way to find out deal information. Jill Caltaldo has a forum where a lot of people post Jewel deals. Go HERE and click on "Post it to the forum!" on the right side of the website. Then scroll down and click on 'Jewel'. (Note: all the other store forums are good to check out to see new deals too!)

More coupons HERE and click on 'Printable Coupons' (Hellmans, Knorr, Breyers, etc.) They print out as regular manufacturer coupons!

Another Jewel trip and a new Scenario

Went to the Jewel (Orchard and Rt. 34) and they had just got a bunch of pallets of the Scott paper towels!

So we were able to get 24 rolls, 13 Knorr rice packets, 2 Scotties tissues, 2 Hellmans mayos, 2 Wishbone salad dressings, and 2 Yoplait Delights with a net cost including tax of only $2.75 for everything!

One new scenario I figured out is pictured below.
  • 2 Hellmans Mayo $5.39 ring up price/$2.99 actual sale price
  • 2 Wishbones $2.49 ring up price/$1.99 actual sale price
  • 5 Knorr Rice Packets $1.89 ring up price/$.99 actual sale price
  • 2 Yoplait Delights $3.39 ring up price/$2.49 actual sale price
  • Coupons I used:
$1.25 off of 5 Knorr (printed from my first transaction when I bought 24 rolls of paper towels and 8 Knorrs) or $1/3 printable HERE and HERE
2 $.75 off Wishbone printable HERE
2 $1 Yoplait printable on coupons.com or HERE
$1/2 Hellmans (Peelie I found on one of the mayos) or printable HERE
  • After tax you net out to about $14.55 so after catalinas you end up with a $.45 profit!

My Jewel Trip Today 11-4-09

I'm still working on some more scenarios, but in the meantime I did the easiest one I could.
  • Buy 16 Knorr sides (I stuck with the rice ones because I know they work and ring up $1.89)
  • Used 2 $1/3 coupons printable HERE
  • Paid: $14 with tax and received $15 in catalinas so I'm up $1 on this one!
Note: If you are doing this deal then make sure to not make the mistake I did and double check all of the expiration dates on the packages. I had one that was expired and one where the package had opened up somehow before I got home..........still got 14 packages for free though!
  • Mashup Mom has been putting out some good scenarios too so definitely keep up with her blog HERE (she put a new one out there with Progresso soup and Chex Mix)
I also checked on my order for paper towels at the Jewel on Orchard and 34. They said that they are planning on getting 4 pallets of the single Scott paper towel rolls tonight! So if you ordered any from that store, I'm expecting that we will get calls tonight or tomorrow. They said they have a whole list of people that they will be saving paper towels for which I thought was super nice of them!

Knorr Sides deal @ Jewel

Knorr Sides are included in the Jewel catalina deal. They are ringing up for $1.89, but you only pay about $.99!

So you're deal could look like this:

Buy 16 Knorr Sides
Use 2 $1/3 coupons printable HERE
Pay only about $14 and get $15 in Catalina...FREE!

Make sure to bring the UPC list of which sides are definitely included that I posted earlier!

Most of you know this, but I just wanted to remind you that all of these catalinas are rolling. So you could essentially buy 16, get your $15 catalinas, buy another 16 and use the $15 catalinas you just received from the first transaction to lower your out of pocket for the second transaction, and you'll still get another $15 in catalinas!

Scott Paper Towel Deal @ Jewel until 11/11

Right now there are single rolls of Scott paper towels that are on sale for $1.29. They are actually part of the catalina deal I posted earlier so if you buy $30 worth then you'll get $15 in catalinas!

So your deal would look like this:

Buy 16 Single Mega Scott paper towels

*Note: The two types that are working are the Mega Rolls (UPC 5400016448) and the Choose a Size Mega Rolls (UPC 5400016445)

They ring up $1.99 so you hit your $30 threshold ($1.99 X 16 = $31.84)

However, since they are on sale you'll only pay $1.29

$1.29 X 16 = $20.64

Use $1/4 roll coupons printable HERE or from the 11/1 SS and 10/4 SS

Final Cost: $20.64 - $4 - $15 in Catalinas = $1.64 for 16 rolls of paper towels!!
I actually went today and of course they had none in stock so I just went to customer service and placed an order for 16 rolls. When they come in, they will be held under my name and they'll call me so I can just go pick them up before the catalina deal is over. I suggest placing an order very soon if you would like to get a chance to do this deal!
On top of that, there is a offer available HERE on the Scott website where you can get a free soccer ball when you purchase 3 Scott products!

Hot unadvertised Catalina Deal at Jewel until 11/11

The past week some people were getting catalinas and not really understanding why until now. Apparently there is an unadvertised catalina deal at Jewel that includes GM, Unilever, and Kimberly-Clark products. Thankfully, Mashup Mom has put together a great post HERE that describes it better.

Tracey from Couponers Wanted has so graciously posted a spreadsheet with all of the included items HERE

I plan on doing a trip today to try a deal out and will post later how it goes!

Herbal Essence Deal and others at Walgreens

Did anybody get the free product coupon that I blogged about HERE?

If so, you should have gotten a coupon for a free bottle of Herbal Essence and a $1 coupon in the mail recently.

Right now at Walgreens Herbal Essence is on sale for 2/$7 and you get $2 in RR when you buy 2. So your deal could look like this:

Buy 2 Herbal Essence $7
Use free product coupon -$3.50
Use $1 coupon -$1
Get $2 in RR -$2
Final cost for 2 is 50 cents!
Bonus.......use the "Buy one Shampoo/Conditioner, Get 1 Styler free" coupon from the 10/11 P&G to get a free styler too!

Go HERE for other deals at Walgreens!

Common Sense with Money also has some scenarios for free or moneymakers this month!
Theraflu or Dulcolax HERE
Lubriderm lotion HERE ($5 moneymaker!)

Cereal Deal at Target

Right now select Kelloggs cereals are on sale for $2.66 and when you buy 3 boxes, you get one free!

There is a $1 Target coupon printable HERE

and there are plenty of manufacturer coupons available HERE and HERE

I haven't been to Target yet, but if the Frosted Mini-Wheats Little Bites and Cornflakes Touch of Honey are part of sale then this could be a really great deal since there are $1 coupons for both on the coupon sites I listed above.

Best deal scenario:

Buy 2 Frosted Mini-Wheats Little Bites and 2 Cornflakes Touch of Honey
Get 1 box free
Use 3 $1 Target coupons HERE
Use 3 $1 coupons printable HERE or HERE
Pay $1.98 for 4 boxes of cereal!

Note: Usually in these scenarios you can use coupons on the 'Free' box, but people are reporting that these coupons are beeping.

There also are a bunch of food items like Oreos and marshmallows that are on clearance since Halloween has passed .............go HERE to read about them!

$.50 Dole Canned Fruit Coupon

Go HERE to play a game to try and win a $10 Visa gift card. Even if you don't win, you will get a chance to print a $.50 coupon for fruit. (limited to being able to print twice) This coupon has a long expiration date so you can wait until a sale or for when Kmart has double coupons again!

Thanks to Common Sense with Money for posting!

Kmart Double Coupon Update

People are reporting that there will be a double coupon event starting this Sunday, Nov. 1st. We won't really know for sure until Sunday, but in the meantime I'm going to start looking through coupons that might be good to save for Kmart just in case.

One coupon that is always a good one is the $2 off Dove Deodorant HERE. I've printed this coupon many times in the past and it has reset again!

Easy Bakeware Scam

If you follow any other blogs, there were quite a bit of entries not too long ago on ordering Easy Bakeware. This was a deal where people were signing up for a membership, getting some free bakeware, and then you could cancel during a certain time period and still keep the bakeware. I always felt leary about it so I never signed up, but anyone who has signed up has now realized it was a scam. Many of these people are reporting that they are getting a bunch of unauthorized charges on their credit cards. So if you decided to do this deal then please check your statements and get a new credit card. Read more about it HERE (especially in the comments section)

Kmart ....possible doubles again?

There are some rumors going around that Kmart may be starting double coupons again sometime in November............if you hear anything more about this then let me know!
